Donegal County Council has a long and distinguished record in the area of arts development, dating to the late 1980s. The Council has always committed itself to working closely with artists, arts and community development groups towards the initiation and support of a broad range of arts projects around the county, in response to community need and artists’ initiative.
Among the highly regarded projects which the Council has been involved in since their inception, have been the An Cosán Glas environmental sculpture trail (An Fal Carrach / Gort a‘Choirce), the Inishowen Carnival Group (Carndonagh), Carnival Ballyshannon and the Irish Aerial Dance Festival (Letterkenny).
